Registry note on invitation improper
By Carson Elliott
Augusta Chronicle Special Columnist

Dear Carson: Is it proper to include bridal registry information in a wedding invitation? - Registry Rules

Dear Registry: Brides-to-be take note: It is most definitely improper to even hint in a wedding invitation that a gift is expected.

It's up to the wedding guests to ask the bride, her fiance or her parents or sister where the bride is registered or to call a couple of jewelry or department stores to inquire. Otherwise, guests are free to select a gift of their choice.

Write to Ask Carson, The Augusta Chronicle, P.O. Box 1928, Augusta, GA 30903-1928. Send e-mail to askcarson@home.com. Carson Elliott's Web site is at www.theproperthing.com.
