Tips on choosing a band or DJ
The first thing to decide is: band or disc jockey? You need to decide if the presence of a live band is worth the extra expense. Bear in mind that DJ's have a more diverse selection of music to work with. Having made that decision, there are certain important guidelines to consider. Some DJ companies lure in customers with low prices, only to provide an inexperienced disc jockey with poor people skills, an inferior music library, and shoddy equipment, and they either show up late or not at all. Here are some questions to ask a prospective entertainer:
Do you provide a written agreement?
Do you have backup equipment?
Is your equipment of professional quality?
Will you listen to my music suggestions?
Will you dress appropriately at my affair?
Will you play the music at an appropriate level?
Do you do more than just play music at the affair?
Will you listen to my concerns and input? It's important to find an entertainer who can answer yes to the above questions. The right entertainment can make the difference between a wedding reception with beautiful music and a wedding nightmare.
